Faith in God Thru the Eyes of an Engineer
Thank you for being interested in my favorite subject. I have a lot to share, I pray its not overwhelming.
I poses a 4yr Bachelors Degree in Physics & 4yr Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. The higher education system pushes the belief in evolution, but I always kept neutral/open mindset. I thank God for placing people in my path, showing me the evidence supporting a creator. I pray you seek this evidence out also to make an informed decision.

Growing up, even though my Mom paid for catholic school for 1hr on Wednesdays, I never felt a connection to the church or with God. When I was in the military, I sampled over 6 different religious groups/denominations. Each one felt the same to me, NO fuzzy warm feeling, NO instant connection to the devine. To this day, I have never seen a burning-bush type miracle or a life changing dream/vision.
I can say today however, I am all-in with wanting to understand God (at least I pray I am). I poses a bachelors degree in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. Very few people (I feel) with these degrees lead to a life of faith in God. I got here with many years of asking “If you exist, I want to discover the scientific evidence or some master equation proving it.” I am still working on the equation, but the evidence I found convincing me can be found here.
So, I believe in a God now, I just have to figure out which one is the correct one. Before I decide, I need to establish characteristics making god, God. I believe they should be…There can be only one. IF there is more than one, then which one came first, who created who, all that drama. No thanks. This eliminates all Roman Gods, etc.
More than one witness. I will NOT believe in a God where there was only one witness to the devine. The reasoning here, any creator would know our hearts and only one witness recording the event is not creditable.
I believe God should never lie. Why would an all powerful creator need to lie? I do not see any reason for this, hence the requirement.
God should be able to see into the future. If your all powerful, you should be living outside of time, meaning you know the effect a past event would cause in the future.
God can never be proven wrong. When you have the ability to see all of time, you should never be wrong.
God wants perfection/increase. As a mechanical engineer, I am always seeking to maximize, optimize and extend the usable-life of my design. I feel an all knowing creator should have this desire as well. This means God must want things to have order, not spiral into chaos and we wipe ourselves out of existence.
God wants to be apart of humanity. One cannot prevent chaos without interacting. One needs to give a set of rules to prevent this.
God cares about creation. As an engineer, I tend to care about some chunk of metal I fabricated into a functioning machine, I would assume God cares more about us.
God has power over life and death. If you die, God can bring you back, so death is NOT the end for you. As an engineer, I look at the human body is simply the hardware. This can be swapped out or changed. The soul would be the software, this can be saved somewhere by God at death and reintroduced into a new body in the future; sounds easy for an all powerful creator.
With all that, I came right back to the Bible we have today, the one I ignored growing up.

Below describes the main topics which prove for me Gods existence. For a more detailed description, click here.
Symmetry. Only a created object has symmetry, not one generated randomly via chance.
God states the life is in the blood. I would agree (I have to, God said it..) but why?
Knee joint is a dual mechanism, a four-bar link mechanism with a cam mechanism combined. Only could be created with a designer, not by accident.
The complexity of the cell. Its so complicated we cannot synthetically make one with our technology today.
Reliability & adaptability. An all powerful creator should design us to be repairable and adapt to different environments here on earth.

If God says a rule and I am able to follow it, then why wouldn’t I? I believe God is seeking perfection for me, this means rules are needed and required to be followed.
With that, I do believe the old testament laws should be followed along with the New testament.
I pray you click here to learn why I choose to keep the old law, this is the most important page in my opinion

I love diving into what’s coming up next in the biblical timeline. I have geeked-out on this by creating a data-table with all the biblical prophecies I could find, then ranked them on when I felt they would be fulfilled. If your interested, check it out here
